December 6 Holiday Pet Pantry
During this season of good will, Suffolk Humane wants to make sure that pets enjoy good will and lots more, especially food, treats, toys and more. With so many people in need, Suffolk Humane hopes to make it a little easier for them to provide for their pets by hosting a pet pantry from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Mike Duman Auto Sales, 2300 Godwin Blvd. SHS volunteers will provide food and other pet items to individuals as long as supplies last during those hours, first come, first served. Anyone wishing to donate food or other items can bring their donations to the SHS office, 4300 Nansemond Parkway, prior to December 6. This will be the fifth pet pantry Suffolk Humane has sponsored. “During our last pet pantry held in August, we were able to help more than 30 families, with 46 dogs and 81 cats benefiting from donations of dry and canned food and other pet supplies,” said Linda Vetter, in-kind donations coordinator of Suffolk Humane. “We know that many people are having a challenging time making ends meet, and we want to help them provide for their pets, especially during the holiday season.”
